Eleven Artist Pavilions
A garden pavilion is a place to linger; it also provides shade from the sun and protection from bad weather. At the Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle, artists have reinterpreted this classic approach. Eleven pavilions take on botanical themes. Artfully aesthetic and at the same time educational, they explain botanical phenomena.Photo Gallery

Pavilion 7: Succulents
This pavilion is shaped like a “mother-in-law’s cushion”, or barrel cactus. The moist interior illustrates how much water succulents can store - a truly remarkable ability. Pavilion 8: Water Plants
Boats upside down provide shade. This is what aquatic plants must look like from a fish’s perspective – just like taking a walk along the bottom of a lake. Pavilion 10: Plants in Spring
A kaleidoscope of colour: floppy stems jutting out into the sky embody the year’s very first blooms. Their bells ring in spring.
