Novel, enthralling and interactive: the special exhibition entitled „Heavenly Scents, Ungodly Stench!“ promises to be all of these things.

The misterious world of scents

Some strange things worth knowing on the subject of scents: Why can we smell some people, but not others? Are flowers capable of mimicry and deceit? These questions - and many others - will be answered for visitors in an unique way, on many locations during this foray into the magical world of smell.

Scent Islands

The coach house is the main stage for this year’s special exhibition; in addition to that, a number of fragrance islands that change with the seasons are scattered across the Gardens. Collections of daffodils, hyacinths, liliacs, roses and ... beguile the senses and lead us on a very special journey through Trauttmansdorff. These and other scent stations like the Scent organ and the Orangerie will be pointed out in the guide through the Gardens by the symbol of the “smelling nose”.
 

Duck out for a whole evening

In our new series Dinnertime at Trauttmansdorff, we have assembled four attractive packages that are a real treat: a discovery of flavour through aroma. From mid-May through mid-September 2010, German and Italian fragrance experts will provide insight into the world of aroma and the realm of smell. Interactive lectures, workshops and aroma tours through the summery Gardens will be rounded off by fine food with an original aroma menu served at the Palm Café on the Water Lily Pond.

Event for children: little Soap Artists

On August 8th we will offer our youngest guests an opportunity to make their own scented soaps.
