Sissi adored strolling in and around Merano

The beloved Empress of Austria would take long walks, passing quiet corners, stately villas, dreamy residences, and old parks. A number of spots along the route between the Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle and the Merano City centre evoke the imperial sojourns in Merano. Watch for well-marked signs for the “Sissi-Weg” (or Sissi’s Path) in both directions. Wheelchairs and strollers can easily negotiate the path.
