WORLD MUSIC FESTIVAL presents MANUEL RANDI TRIO
A brilliant musician, who’s versatility has led him to work with some of the most recognisable names at the national and international level, Manuel Randi is currently also a member of the "Herbert Pixner Project" – an ensemble with whom he frequently tours – clocking up one success after another, with a string of sold-out concerts in Germany, Austria, Italy and Switzerland.
His solo performances are special events in themselves and, on this occasion, he is accompanied by Marco Stagni (double bass/electric bass) and Mario Punzi (drums).
Having known each other and grown together musically over the years, the three musicians interact in a way that their instruments seem to merge together. Their sound ranges from quiet lowkey passages to passionate flamenco rhythms, and fusion rock eruptions. No matter what kind of music they play, their versatile sounds are always striking.
Spanning songs from his last three CDs: "New Old Songs", "Toscana" and "Illusion", as well as a number of new compositions, Manuel Randi’s current programme showcases a wide variety of musical styles, such as flamenco, Italian folklore, Bossa nova and African influences – all in his own inimitable style. The line-up is:
