The Botanical Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle: Restaurant and Café

A modern restaurant is nestled against the historical castle, situated above the Sissi Terrace. The large panoramic windows offer magnificent views of the paths that wind down to the Water Lily Pond. Delicious local and Mediterranean specialties, made from predominantly local ingredients, are served on the cozy roof terrace that affords panoramic views. Schlossgarten Restaurant has three different menus that vary according to the season. The cakes and pastries from Trauttmansdorff’s own bakery are a specialty. Wine lovers will also be in bliss here, since the restaurant offers a wide selection of quality wines from Laimburg Province Winery. The restaurant seats 140 inside and 200 on the terrace. The exotic Palm Café is located directly on the bank of the Water Lily Pond and is surrounded by a lush palm paradise. Glass siding affords magnificent views of lotus blossoms, rose gardens and the surrounding Water and Terraced Gardens. The Palm Café serves coffee, soft drinks, refreshing ice cream, homemade pastries and light regional specialties. The cafe seats 70, mostly outdoors.
