How tourism transformed South Tyrol in the 1970s and 1980s – told by those who experienced it firsthand.
"It was simply a fact that there was nothing in South Tyrol at the time. There were no jobs, no training places. People didn’t really know what they could do so they could start a family, build a house, or have a secure life and a certain level of wellbeing. And I will say this: looking back, if we hadn’t said yes to tourism back then, we wouldn’t have been able to prevent the exodus from the mountain regions." (Luis Durnwalder)
