Historic Lantern slide presentatiuon with AVS – Alpenverein Südtirol

On Friday, 30 October, at 6:00 p.m., a historical-style magic lantern lecture will be staged in Deuster Hall. Through a theatrical presentation, the audience will be transported back in time by around one hundred years. Journalist Patrick Rina will present images and texts on "The Emergence and Transformation of the Living Alpine Glacier." 

The Alpine Club's collection of magic lantern slides was assembled between 1898 and 1940 for alpine tourism and educational purposes. These so-called illustrated lantern lectures were intended to give club members an insight into the beauty of the Alpine world. The lecture will present a selection of alpine magic lantern slides depicting mountaineering in the Dolomites.
